What's the difference?

Whether you choose a bespoke handmade garment or a made to measure option, you’re guaranteed an incredible outcome when you choose to work with Steed on the world renowned Savile Row.

But, more than that, your garment will fit better than any off the rack option because of the custom nature of tailored clothing along with the expertise of the Steed family.

Bespoke

When you commission a true bespoke garment you should expect the following:

– A minimum of thirty of measurements taken (Steed take over forty)

– A professional consultation with an experienced tailor. Here at Steed you will always be seen by an expert cutter from Savile Row.

– A suit hand cut in the exact style you want – completely individual to you

– Your choice of:

– thousands of cloths, with any combination of cloth for everything from pockets to lapels and more

– thousands of linings

– a huge array of buttons and threads

Made to Measure
(aka custom or MTM)

When you choose a custom or made to measure option you should expect the following:

– A minimum of fifteen of measurements taken (Steed take over forty)

– A suit cut in a style chosen from hundreds of options

– Your choice of:

– hundreds of cloths

– thousands of linings

– a huge array of buttons and threads
